The Department of Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine and Seattle Children’s Hospital (SCH) are recruiting a qualified individual to serve as Chief of the Division of Pediatric Orthopaedics and full-time Pediatric Orthopaedic faculty member.
The Division’s orthopaedic surgeons perform operative procedures and hold outpatient clinic at Seattle Children's Hospital. The Department's partners collaborate in the development and success of the Division, support the array of SCH satellite outpatient clinics in the region, and share in call coverage at the hospital.
The Division's faculty members participate in an exciting blend of clinical, translational and basic science research, with a focus on improving the musculoskeletal health of children—both nationally and globally. Faculty actively collaborate with investigators at the University of Washington—one of the top biomedical research universities in the world. We are seeking a visionary leader who will support the division’s expanding, nationally recognized research programs. The innovative culture of Seattle Children's fosters a supportive environment for multidisciplinary collaborations in its clinical programs and the development of integrative care approaches; examples include Neuromuscular Care, Adolescent Sports Medicine, and Skeletal Health and Genetics.
The Division’s faculty members are committed to educating the next generation of pediatric orthopaedic surgeons and as such are active educators in the medical school as well as the orthopaedic surgery residency and subspecialty training programs including fellowship training programs. We are seeking an academic medical leader committed to this mission and supportive of educational scholarship. Interested applicants should be board certified in orthopaedic surgery (MD, DO or foreign equivalent required) and have an established record of academic achievement and leadership experience. This is a full-time academic appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor (without tenure due to funding) commensurate with prior experience. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services
