| The University of Chicago's Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Medicine seeks to hire a full-time researcher/clinician with an established and successful career in academic medicine. The individual will play a substantial role in building and leading a clinical effectiveness research program for the Department that will achieve national stature and external funding. This individual will work collaboratively with members of the Department as well as faculty and staff at the University of Chicago Medicine & Biological Sciences, the Center for Health and the Social Sciences, the Booth School of Business, the Harris School of Public Policy, and other relevant academic units at the University of Chicago to accomplish program goals. This individual will be responsible for leading a culture of clinical data collection and analysis, and interfacing with other resources on campus to establish and maintain an infrastructure for clinical effectiveness and cost-utility research. This individual's personal research career will be focused on funding, conducting, and publishing clinical effectiveness studies to evaluate the value of orthopaedic care. The clinical component of this individual's role will be no more than 20% effort. Responsibilities will also include teaching medical students, residents and fellows. |
This individual must have completed an ACGME-approved residency or its equivalent and be eligible to obtain licensure in the state of Illinois. Compensation is dependent upon qualifications and includes a generous fringe benefit package.
