The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation at the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine (PLFSOM) of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (TTUHSC El Paso) is recruiting orthopaedic subspecialists to join our expanding academic department in these positions:

 Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery (Assistant Professor or Higher, Job Requisition #BR19643)
 Adult Reconstructive Orthopaedic Surgery (Instructor or Higher, Job Requisition #BR22784)
 Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (Instructor or Higher, Job Requisition #BR22789)
 Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery (Assistant Professor or Higher, Job Requisition #BR19644)

Faculty members will teach residents and medical students as well as pursue research and other scholarly activities. These fulltime faculty positions offer competitive compensation and benefits packages. Academic rank is commensurate with qualifications. Successful candidates must have M.D. / D.O., ACGME accredited orthopaedic surgery residency training, fellowship training in a corresponding subspecialty, and eligibility for an unrestricted Texas medical license. Board certification by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery is preferred. Regional or emerging national reputation is necessary for associate professor/professor rank.

The Department’s unique ACGME- accredited Orthopaedic Surgery Residency program is a combined military civilian program between William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) and TTUHSC El Paso, one of the largest programs in the Department of Defense. Orthopaedic residents rotate at WBAMC, University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC-EP) and El Paso Children’s Hospital.

TTUHSC El Paso is the fourth independent university in the Texas Tech University System and is comprised of the Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, and the new Woody L. Hunt School of Dental Medicine.

Serving as TTUHSC El Paso’s primary teaching hospital, UMC-EP is the community’s only nonprofit community owned hospital and healthcare system. UMC-EP serves as the Level I Trauma Center in a 300-mile radius and is a regional referral center for specialty care.

El Paso Children’s Hospital the largest expansion of pediatric medical services in West Texas. The 225K square foot hospital is the first and only separately licensed, independent, nonprofit children’s hospital in the El Paso region and is the only dedicated pediatric hospital within a 270 mile radius.
