The Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine is seeking a full-time orthopaedic surgeon with a background in musculoskeletal tumor surgery. This position will be based at the Veterans Affairs Puget Sound Health Care System (VAPSHCS), the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, home of the world-renowned Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Appointment will be at the Assistant Professor level but a candidate with exceptional qualifications will be considered for appointment at the Associate Professor rank (without tenure due to funding). Candidates must be a citizen of the United States, have an MD degree, be board certified or eligible in orthopaedic surgery and be fellowship trained in musculoskeletal tumor surgery with an interest in surgical management of primary and metastatic tumors of bone, soft tissue sarcoma surgery, prosthetic and allograft joint and limb reconstructions. An interest in total joint replacement surgery of the hip and the knee is required. Candidates should have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in patient care and teaching and will be expected to establish a clinical or basic science research program. Candidates must also be able to obtain a full Washington State Medical License.
