Reporting to the Physician Director of Ancillary Services, the Medical Director of QuickCare is responsible for oversight and management of the delivery of high quality, compassionate, cost effective healthcare in the QuickCare Clinic, which provides episodic and urgent Orthopaedic Muscular-Skeletal, plastics and reconstructive care to patients on a walk-in basis. In collaboration with the Physician Director of Ancillary Services, the Director of Ambulatory Clinics, and the QuickCare Director, the Medical Director sets the vision and goals for the QuickCare Department/s at Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center (CCOC). The Medical Director oversees the quality of provider work, ensuring adherence to the protocols of CCOC and accepted standards of Orthopaedic and Plastics care.


Includes the following but are not limited to:


  • Establishes and implements processes for monitoring the quality of care provided by QuickCare clinicians to include chart reviews; continuous training and mentoring

  • Consults with, supervises, and gives direction to Advanced Clinical Practitioners (mid-levels), i.e., APRN-CNP (Nurse Practitioners), PA (Physician Assistants), and other professional clinical staff

  • Reviews and responds to clinical issues

  • Works with leadership, establishes effective clinical workflows and provides direct clinical care across time frames that QuickCare services are open

  • Recruits and hires provider staff for QuickCare with the support of Human Resources

  • Collaborates with Physician Director of Ancillary Services, Finance Department, and Human Resources to establish physician variable compensation measures

  • Determines clinical staffing needs by shift and works with QuickCare Director to ensure coverage

  • Ensures compliance with CCOC, state, regulatory and accrediting bodies as well as organizational policies and procedures regarding the delivery of healthcare

  • Interfaces with all CCOC providers and referring physicians;

  • Interprets CCOC/CCI policy to employees and administers medical services and safety regulations

  • Advises staff and supervisors on administrative changes

  • Recommends measures to improve methods, performance, and quality of medical service, and suggests changes in working conditions to increase efficiency

  • Assists CCOC leadership in preparation of QuickCare department budget

  • Interprets, prepares, and distributes statistical data regarding department operations

  • Collaborates with the QuickCare Director and Clinical Supervisor in the establishment of annual departmental goals, including financial, quality and customer service goals; measurement and improvement of provider, patient and staff satisfaction and daily problem solving; implementation of policies and procedures

  • Prepares with the QuickCare Director and Clinical Supervisor to ensure completion of the clinician schedules in a timely and complete manner

  • Collaborates with the Physician Leadership to ensure coordination of care between QuickCare and all Orthopaedic/Plastic specialties within CCOC Clinical leaders within CCOC, as well as with administrative leaders

  • Host outreach opportunities to share the QuickCare services to physicians, ED’s, offices and others throughout Northeast Ohio



  • Keeps QuickCare Director informed on key issues

  • Other duties as assigned



  • Works well with patients, physicians, vendors, sales reps and other CCOC employees.

  • Complies with all Standards of Behavior set forth by CCOC.

  • Adheres to policies and procedures set forth in CCOC Employee Manual.

  • Adheres to the CCOC attendance policy.

  • Follows HIPAA, OSHA and Compliance Plan regulations.



  • Works well with patients, physicians, vendors, sales reps and other CCOC employees

  • Complies with all Standards of Behavior set forth by CCOC

  • Adheres to policies and procedures set forth in CCOC Employee Manual

  • Follows HIPAA, OSHA and Compliance Plan regulations

  • Current and valid state of Ohio medical license required

  • Board certified in at least one of the following: Sports Medicine; Orthopaedic Surgery; combined Orthopaedic-Pediatrics, Physiatrist or Emergency Medicine.

  • Substantive professional experience in clinical management, managed care quick care quality improvement, supervision and clinical protocol development preferred but not required.

  • Current BLS/ACLS certification.

  • No board sanctions or actions in last 10 years



    Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to provide leadership. Knowledge of the orthopaedic/plastics care model. The ability to communicate effectively with physicians, administration, various staff, patients, as well as external customers.
