The Orlando Health Medical Group is seeking a fellowship trained Orthopedic Sports Medicine surgeon to join our thriving practice. Our orthopedic program has been recognized internationally as a pioneer and leader in orthopedic care. We are a hospital-employed group consisting of 40 physicians with fellowship training in sports medicine, hand surgery, joint replacement, spine surgery, foot and ankle surgery, orthopedic trauma and physical medicine & rehabilitation.

We are recruiting for a dynamic physician leader who can serve as both the Orthopedic Sports Medicine Program Director and as a Team Physician for the Orlando City and Orlando Pride professional soccer clubs.

We are looking for a Program Director who will be passionately involved in our residency and fellowship programs. This includes building the fellowship program schedule, participating in research and serving as a hands-on mentor. Our top-quality ACGME accredited residency and fellowship programs are continuing to grow. Our orthopedic sports medicine fellowship provides advanced surgical training in complex hip, knee, shoulder, elbow and hand sports injuries. We have 10 fellowship trained/BC orthopedic sports medicine faculty overseeing 22 orthopedic residents and 1 orthopedic sports medicine fellow. We also have a primary care sports medicine fellowship led by 3 fellowship trained/BC primary care sports medicine physicians.

As a Team Physician for Orlando City and Pride, this role will be responsible for working collaboratively with the soccer club leadership, sports medicine staff and coaches to ensure that the athletes are receiving the highest level of care to achieve optimal performance on and off the field. We currently have a well-renowned orthopedic sports medicine surgeon from our program serving in the role of Chief/Lead Team physician for the Orlando City and Pride clubs. This position is expected to serve as the successor and in time take over as the Chief/Lead Team physician. This includes obtaining any necessary certifications that are required by the MLS.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a recent fellowship graduate within the past five years who can grow intrinsically with us. We are seeking a collaborative surgeon with outstanding clinical and teaching skills. To apply, the candidate must be BC/BE in orthopedic surgery with fellowship training in sports medicine.
