The Adult Reconstruction faculty in the Department of Orthopaedics is interested in finding the right person to develop research projects, assist in scientific design, study conduct and interpretation, statistical analysis, and abstract and manuscript writing and submission.

The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree in a scientific discipline or health related field plus four years of experience or equivalency required. This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements. We protect our patients, coworkers and community by requiring all patient-sensitive employees to be immunized according to CDC standards and hospital policy. Limited exemptions may be made for documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs that object to vaccinations.

Background experience or knowledge of adult reconstruction or ability to quickly learn and become fluent in the field, is required. Manuscript reading, writing, editing, formatting and submission skills will be necessary. Basic statistical analysis is preferred. Database management, query and analysis, including internal databases is a prominent part of this role . You will be collaborating and driving projects forward including the All Payor Claims Database (APCD), Utah Population Database (UPDB), Veteran’s Administration (VA). You will be responsible for citation management; writing and submitting grants; assisting with the continual search and securing of external funding sources. Study protocol development and regulatory management, including IRB and Conflicts of Interest. Management of divisional research enterprise and staff is an important aspect of this position. Collaboration is a priority at the University of Utah.
