Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) is seeking an experienced board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, who has completed an orthopaedic trauma fellowship, to assume the role of Chief of Orthopaedic Trauma. The new Chief should have several years of clinical experience participating as a member of an academic orthopaedic trauma service. Leading a group of seasoned orthopaedic traumatologists, the selected candidate will be responsible for the overall inpatient and outpatient clinical care of the service, and be an active participant in the call schedule. Candidates must be eligible for a Massachusetts medical license and ATLS certification is expected, preferably as an instructor. In addition to the responsibilities for the Orthopaedic Trauma Service, the selected candidate will ideally have a secondary area of expertise to help expand and support the breadth of the department’s offering. In alignment with the department’s core values of collegiality, high-quality patient care, leadership, and education, the Chief will have a proven track record of excellence in teaching, research, and mentoring. Current, active committee involvement in the Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA) and/or the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons is preferred. In addition to working with residents within the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program, the candidate will be a core faculty member for the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship, a multi-institutional OTA-accredited fellowship.
